Creating an integrated mobile marketing program

In order to have a successful mobile marketing strategy, it needs to involve an integrated approach. You can't expect the results you want without integrating your mobile program with your online program, etc. Consider the following three areas:

Channels- What channels are you using to market? How can you integrate them? Can you offer an opt in function for your mobile marketing on your website? Can you promote one aspect of your overall marketing campaign with the others? When marketing, using several different channels is often the most effective approach, as it gives you a wider range, and appeals to a wider audience.

Tactics- What are your marketing tactics? Can you integrate your mobile tactics with your web tactics? There is often a lot of overlap in how to be successful with marketing, both traditional, mobile, and web. Thus, integrating them is both efficient and useful.

Vendors- Who are your vendors? Can you get them onboard with integrating your various forms of marketing? It is important to use your various resources together with your vendors to create an integrated mobile marketing program. Vendors can become huge allies, especially if they agree to accept mobile coupons, etc.

When creating a mobile marketing program, ask yourself the following questions:
1. What are your goals for mobile marketing? Be specific, goals are an important part of nay marketing campaign, mobile or otherwise.
2. How is your audience using mobile devices? If you know how they are using them, you can align your marketing plan with these uses. (Sending texts if they are using texts, building mobile platforms if they browse the web, with coupon codes, etc.)
3. How can you use your strengths in your mobile marketing plan? What are you best at? How do you outshine your competition?
4. Does your mobile marketing campaign follow mobile marketing best practices? Is it going to help you achieve your goals?

As you answer these questions, you will find that you have created a great start to a mobile marketing campaign strategy. You will know what you want, and who you are targeting. You will also be able to point out your strengths, and thus how you can take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves in your market. You will also be able to insure that you are following the best practices, and that if you are deviating from them, that you have a real reason.

Gaining a greater understanding of your own approach can help you fine tune it and integrate it with your other marketing tactics, with your vendors, and to utilize the many channels available, all within the confines of meeting your goals.Your goals are going to help drive you, your defined audience will direct you, as you take their needs into consideration, and your personal strengths are what will give your mobile marketing campaign
