One of the most important tasks you will take on as a business owner is to help design a marketing message for your company. It is crucial that you put together a marketing message that will let your customers know what you have to offer them in the most simple, clear, and concise terms. You must be able to make sure that you can attract and keep your customers attention in only a few seconds. Then you must be able to communicate your marketing message in way that compels them to buy from you and not your competition. However, this task can seem daunting. The good news is that there are tips that can help you with this process. Here is what you need to know about how to design a marketing message-

- Find a way to get your customers attention-All to often business owners design a marketing message that they think will get their intended customers attention without really knowing if it will. You have to have a definite idea of who your target market is and how you can best get their attention. Keep in mind that this will be highly unique to your business and what you have to offer. You must find a way that speaks to their needs and wants and reach them where they are. In addition, you must be able to do it in manner, so that your marketing message is heard above the multitude of marketing messages that your target market receives everyday.
- Tell them why they need to buy from you-It is not enough to simply get your target market's attention. You need to let them know that you are the answer to their need or want. You want to let your customers know exactly why they should buy from you. The essence of good marketing is to develop a relationship with your customer. Once you do that you will know what they are looking for and you can provide the solution through the products and services that your company offers. Finally, you need to create an urgency of need. You want your customers to leave whatever they are doing and rush down and buy your product or service right away.
- Determine what marketing method will work the best-Today, there have never been so many avenues to use for marketing. However, it is important to understand that while there is no right or wrong marketing method to use some will work better for your message then others. You need to determine what type of marketing will best reach your target market. Does your target market spend a lot of time on the internet? If they do then you need to focus a majority of your marketing resources online. Does your target market spend most of their time watching television? Then marketing on TV might be the answer for you. Do not assume that just because something is deemed the "hot" marketing method of the moment that it is right for you and your business.
- Offer something of value to your customers-No matter how you choose to market you need to make sure that each time you reach out to your customers you are offering something of value. Whether you use Twitter, email, or print marketing if you can't provide something to your customer besides a sales push they will quickly grow tired of your marketing and either block it or simply move on to another company that will give what they are looking for. You need to make sure that whatever type of marketing that you use you are letting your customers know that you value them for the relationship they have with your business.
