Tips for advertising in print

Here are some great tips for advertising in print. These tips are summed up in a few words: simple, clean, accurate and interesting.

If you make sure that you follow these tips all of your advertising will be worth every penny you put into it. Here are those tips.

1. Short and simple. The simpler the information is, the easier the consumer will be able to get right to the point. This is important because with all the advertising that goes out to the public, they will not want to read an autobiography. Short paragraphs, short sentences, and short words. Get the information out there in a way that is easy, fast, and to the point. Not only is this better for reading, but short will save you money. Advertising is one of the most expensive parts of your business budget.
2. Use good information. The information you are sending out there in your advertising needs to be true, feasible, and real. There needs to be no lies, no stretches of the truth, and definitely no tricks. The public will learn about these types of print and will stop looking at your advertising all together.

3. Accuracy is very important. There are many times you will see advertisement that just does not make sense because it is spelled incorrectly, or the wrong words are used. This can be humorous, but do you want to the public to think about the errors, or the product or service you are selling. Advertising costs, and personally I would want my money to go far.
4. Get the consumers attention. When you consider the entire monotone and boring thing in this world, it is no wonder that people stop looking. Make sure that your advertising sparks an interest because it is exciting, informative, and creates a want for your product. There are key ideas that make this work. Take a look:
a. Why does the consumer need your product?
b. What makes your product or service unique?
c. Why is your product fun and exciting?
d. What are the uses of your product, in a few words
e. Get BOLD
5. Use your space for advertising wisely. Do not over fill the space that you have. This will only cause for an overwhelming want to toss the advertising in the garbage. Keeping it clean will help to have a direct look at what really matter.
6. Design your print in a clear and understandable fashion. The center, and just to the left or right should be the main product or service. Then in different places around the main product should be important and interesting facts about the products, specials and services.
7. Advertise what you will really do. If the advertisement says buy one get one free, back that up. Honor and trust are main keys to building a good relationship with your consumer. Therefore if you break that by printing things that are inaccurate, even if it is unintentional, then you will have problems on your hands. That word will travel faster than you can imagine.

These tips will make it easier to print good advertising your business. However, keep in mind that it is up to you to come up with what goes out there. The more clear, correct, simple and interesting the information is, the better chance you will have that the consumer will read it. Don't let your advertisement be the one that gets tossed out with yesterday's leftovers.
