Smart signage

logo14505133.jpgIf you are ready to spread the word about your products and services, smart signage is one of the best ways to do it. What exactly does signage mean? It refers to a display of any kind that is used to attract the attention of your target audience. Bright colors are often used for signage as they quickly draw attention to your business. Yellow, orange, and bright green are among the most popular colors to use for your signage.

Signage now includes a short amount of text. In the past, many companies used pictures, but they have been found to be ineffective ways to attract attention. Signage not only refers to large banners that you can place on the side of your business, but they also refer to a sign for your business that includes your business name, logo, and often your phone number.

What other types of signage are available? A handful of companies hire young teens to stand in front of their business and shake a sign to attract attention. It's a great way to attract attention and they can hand face-to-face interaction with your customers.

If you have glass windows, they provide another excellent opportunity to advertise your business. Some businesses like to place a ton of yellow signs in their windows to catch their customer's attention, while it is a good way to draw business, it looks very tacky. Use your other signage to draw them in and then use acrylic lettering to advertise on the windows. This is a great way to keep your business looking clean and classic.

Smart signage also entails using your car to advertise your business. Advertising wraps for cars provide a great marketing opportunity where you can market your business to a large audience. Simply driving your car around will catch the attention of your audience and this helps to generate a buzz in your area. If you do not want to decorate your entire car with a car wrap, you can also use door magnets and electric signs to attract attention.

Signs do not always need to be acrylic or metal, they can be something as simple as a door hanger or flyer. In fact, door-to-door marketing is one of the most effective ways for a small business to generate a buzz about their products or services and quickly increase their revenue. If you sales have been stagnant in this economy, door hangers may be the best way to quickly revive them. Spend an hour or two each day and walk around some door hangers or flyers.

Take advantage of holidays and other times when you can create a unique marketing campaign. For example, you can do a large promotion for your business with tax season coming up. Let's say you own a small sandwich shop and you'd like to reach your customers. Use the tax season to your advantage by offering foot long subs for a low cost and come up with a catchy marketing phrase about how your sandwiches will feed your entire family for a low-cost calling it a "tax break" for the family. There are a number of different events you can use to your advantage and offer great promotions to start driving in your business and boost your sales.

Small business owners do not have the marketing budgets of their large competitors and it can be quite expensive to launch a large advertising campaign. Instead of putting your money into large things like newspaper ads and television or radio ads, stick with some of the smaller advertising options we have listed above. They make take a little more effort and time on your part, but they are actually more effective from some of the expensive marketing campaigns.
