Features a professional telephone recorder should have

When you run a business, making sure that company time is spent on company things, that your customer service agents are being serviceable, and polite, and that training is adequate, a professional phone recorder can be your best friend. However, sometimes choosing the right telephone recorder proves more difficult than it should be. The following are some of the features a professional telephone recorder should have:

Multi-line functions: When you run a business, chances are you have more than one phone line coming in and out of your office, especially if you have a customer service department. A phone recorder only capable of recording one phone line would be a colossal waste of money if you need to record conversations held on multiple lines. So, first and foremost, make sure you find out if the phone recorder you are looking at is capable of handling your specific needs. A phone call recorder that is right for one person may not be right for another, especially if their needs differ.

Large memory: When you run a professional business you have numerous calls coming in and out of your office. If you plan to record these calls, whether for training purposes, or to protect your business, you will need to ensure that your phone recorder has sufficient memory to hold all of the calls. A cassette tape recorder, for instance, would be a horrible idea, as you would likely fill the tape several times a day, and would miss information if you did not have someone there to change the tape each time it filled. Therefore, you would probably want to consider a digital recorder that records the audio files directly to a PC of your choice, or something similar. No matter where the audio files are stored, you want to make sure you have a large enough memory to hold as many calls as you want. That way you do not miss recording calls due to shortness of storage space.

MP3 or other usable formats: No file conversion means saved time, and higher ease of use. You want to make sure that when you buy a digital phone call recorder that the files are in a usable format for your systems. Software to convert files can be very costly, not to mention the process could be frustrating or time consuming. So, instead of dealing with the potential headache, look for a phone recorder that automatically saves the files into a format you can use, such as MP3.

Easy to install software: Even if you have an IT guy who can handle just about anything, having a phone recorder that is easy to install, and that does not require too much difficult software is always a good idea. The easier it is to install and use, the more likely you will be to actually use it and get your money's worth out of it.
Security on files: If you want a professional phone recorder, one thing to consider is how safe the audio files are after they are recorded. You will want to look for a phone recorder that offers encryption of files, password protection, and other safety and security measures.

When looking for a professional phone recorder, no matter what your purpose, consider the above features, and choose the telephone recorder that best fits your unique needs.
