Mobile marketing is a form of marketing that is extremely effective as it reaches the customers where they are, however, it requires you to give valuable information in small chunks, which is often a difficult undertaking. QR codes can make this far simpler as it allows you to offer greater amounts of information, but in smaller packages, making it perfect for the mobile user. Here are some ways you can use QR codes:

Product details- Any print, television, or other advertisement that you want to include product detail in is a great place to put a QR code. They are small and unobtrusive, which means they work well on flyers and adds, and for those who want more information on the product, they simply scan the code, and have immediate access to all the product detail they could imagine.

Contact details- This is a great place for QR codes because it allows you to insert contact information like phone, email, retail location address, etc. and do so in a small space. Those who want contact detail can find it, and it does not clutter up an advertisement.

Offer details- This is a great way to get new offers out, using QR codes in your mobile marketing to let consumers know about the new offers you have, and all the details about when, where, what, how much, etc.

Event details- This is just like the others, if you want to use QR codes to provide detailed information in a small space, this is the way to go. Event details can be contained in a small space

A coupon- QR codes are a great place to store coupons or links to coupons for your products or services.

Twitter, Facebook, MySpace IDs- This gives consumers the social media networking information they may need to get a hold of you via social networking sites. You can also include links to YouTube videos and other URLs that may provide the consumer with product or company information.

On your webpage, QR codes are useful as they allow you to create a page of information for every product you have, and you can then generate QR codes to place next to the products on the page, where when read, they contain all the product details, making them easy to share with friends via their phones, and web pages. If someone has a QR code reader on their phone, and you put a QR code on your contact page, they can use the code to instantly add you to their cell phone contact list. Basically they provide lots of valuable information in simple, easy to use means, in order to make sharing, learning, and using your products and promotions easier.

QR codes work well with mobile media, as they are designed for the mobile users, and work well with smart phones. Not everyone is using them yet, but they appear to be a big part of the future of information sharing.
