Creating better brochures

When you are unable to talk to all of your customers directly your print marketing materials will do this for you. These materials may include things like your business cards, brochures, etc. You need to spend time creating better brochures in order to provide the customer with the right information in order to help them convert to a sale. Businesses will always rely on brochures to further the information that the customer has. A brochure serves as a salesman and it needs to communicate the message. In order to do this it needs to be attractive but it also needs to have the right information on it.

Some people will actually learn about your company by turning to the brochure. The best brochures will impress the customer right away but they will inform them and convince them to contact you. The brochure needs to have plenty of time devoted to it because it does represent your company to the world. Here are some tips that will help you to create better brochures and to bring about a positive response from your customers:
- Keep the headers short. You need to attract attention through your keywords. Keep the headers and titles short or they will become too wordy and will end up annoying your customers more than anything else. Keep your headers to 10 words or less to generate interest from your customers.
- Know your target audience. When you create a brochure, always have them in mind. What information do they want to receive from the brochure? Make sure that you are using headlines that will immediately draw people in.
- Try to have 5 sentences or less under each header. Keep the sentences short and to the point so they answer the question quickly and prevent the customer from losing interest. Keep the font size smaller from the header in order to prevent the customer from losing focus on where they are at in the reading.
- Break up the text with pictures, bullet points, and hypens. This way it won't feel like the entire brochure is full of words. It allows you to have an easier time reading the information and it also makes the brochure appear clean and precise. With less text, your customers will not feel like they are reading a novel.
- Use captions in different styles from the rest of the paragraph to draw in readers. This helps to break up the text as well and will also give the brochure a unique style.
- Keep your fonts to no more than 3 different styles. Too many different styles will become confusing and will look disorganized and jumbled.
- Make sure the pictures are high resolution so they are clear and easy to view. A good tip is to ensure that any picture of a person has a head size of a dime. This is the best way to avoid confusion and will make the picture easy to see.
- Always place your contact information on the lower back section of the brochure. This is almost a standard rule of thumb when it comes to brochures as everyone turns them over to see who created the brochure. This is your best option to market your company effectively.
- Avoid too many colors in your brochure. Depending upon the type of brochure, it is best to have one color for the text and 2 or 3 colors for the background and dividers in the brochure. This keeps the brochure simple and basic and avoids your eyes from growing tired by looking around all the time.
