Creating A Wireless Office

Once the power of wireless had been tapped, there has been no stopping business from creating a wireless office. There are several benefits to creating a wireless office. It is safer in the short term as there are no bulky wires that are needed to hook computers together and to the network router. It looks cleaner - let's face it a bundle of wires wherever they happen to be are ugly and do not encourage a beautiful workplace. With a wireless office, people have more freedom to move around, which has the benefits of better fitness and less boredom.

Wireless internet is the first innovation that should have infiltrated every office in the United States. No longer are there blue chords everywhere that are connected to a jack slightly larger than the one that a phone might connect to if it weren't also wireless. This means that information can be available with just a little bit of typing at anytime and anywhere there is a laptop.Whether in a meeting when crucial information is needed or in the staff lounge when an idea hits that needs to be put on the network, computers can go anywhere and the internet can go with them.

The computer has gone almost completely wireless. The monitor and the hard drive still have to be plugged in to get electricity, but the keyboard, the mouse, the headset and any other accoutrements can be unwired. Most of these implements are run by batteries, so there is a little more expense in using them. However, when these items are combined with rechargeable batteries, they are quite economical, and the company gets the added advantage of touting the fact that it is using green techniques to run its business.

Even printers are wireless now.Combine that with a laptop, and a person can be anywhere in the office and still get work done and printed when needed. This is truly an exciting phenomenon because it provides a greater range of freedom and can lead to less waste.Who hasn't printed something from their office and then walked over to the office printer only to find that the printed item was removed by someone else?Or that the printer had failed to print?Bringing the laptop to the printer and printing allows the person to save valuable time and to know that the item was printed with no problems. If there are problems, then the person is in the room and able to fix it right away rather than having to deal with the frustration of something not working out as planned and the lost time going from computer to printer.

The BlueTooth looks like a creation right out of a cyborg implant movie. Its chief positive quality is that the person using it can answer his or her phone without having to be anywhere near it.Having a Blue Tooth synchronized with a phone also allows the person hands-free operation of the phone. This makes it easier for the person to stay in touch with other members of his or her team without having to sit by a wired phone location.

There are some downsides to creating a wireless office. Some parts like wireless mice and BlueTooths can disappear.Whether lost, stolen or just misplaced, an epidemic of disappearing electronic equipment will affect the bottom line of any company.(On the other hand, wire thieves are less like to visit a wireless office.)There is also some concern that having so many items that send and transmit radio waves may cause cancer. This could lead to the staff wearing aluminum foil on their head to protect their brains from the waves and any alien transmissions or mind reading probes.
