How to choose which cell phone is right for you

cellphones37025442.jpgThe world of cell phones can be confusing and overwhelming. Whether you are in the market, for you first cell phone or a new one, you may feel like there are simply two many choices. However, if you have a plan, before you go out shopping it can help make the search more manageable. Here is what you need to know about how to choose which cell phone is right for you-

  • Start with the plan-the cell phone plan-You will need to have an idea of what cell phone plan you are going to subscribe to. Most people use a plan that they pay for on a monthly basis. This is usually the most affordable way to have a cell phone. You will need to determine how many minutes you will want on your plan.
  • Do your homework-It can really pay off if you take the time to go through search engines, read customer review and even ask other people what they love (or don't love) about their phones. This way you are most likely to come up the features that you want to focus on and the ones that don't mean as much to you. Keep in mind that you will want to know that following for the phones you are interested in: price; reseller/dealer location; features warranty; availability).
  • Think about style-While many people may overlook the style of the phone (just give me one that takes and makes call), it is important to take into consideration. Cell phones come in flip, bar, and slider styles. Each phone has a different size keypad and in the case of smart phones-keyboards. While you may not think that style is that important, think about this-Do you really want to drag a cell phone out of your pocket or bag that is hard to use, bulky and not very attractive?
  • How smart should your phone be?-Today there is a major category divide when it comes to phones. There are smart phones that are enabled to receive emails, browse the web and do all sorts of other tasks, and there are those that don't. Keep in mind that if you choose a smart phone, you will pay for the extra features, so you need to make sure that it is something you will really use. You can find good deals on them if you are willing to take the time to shop around. Many business people feel that their smart phone is a necessity.
  • Start your shopping-There is almost as many places to buy a cell phone as there are cell phones themselves. You can find phones, at malls, phone stores, online or even get one from a friend. Experts stress that you really consider what features you will need and use and what you can do without. Keep in mind that the more features the phone has, the more expensive it will be. You need to be clear as to whether or not you really need a camera, web browser or some of the other high-tech features.
  • Think about the camera-Most cell phones have cameras as part of their features. This has become an easy way, for manufacturers to merge technologies. If you are going to be using your cell phone camera, for anything else then snapping pictures of your kid with chocolate all over their face, or the goofy antics of your best friend, then you should think about mega-pixels. Most cell phones have a 1.3 mega-pixel camera. This means that the picture resolution is quite poor and the pictures may not turn out as well as you hope.Keep in mind that any pixels that are higher than this will take fairly good pictures. However, if you choose a phone 5 mega-pixel camera, it can take a very nice quality picture.
