How to choose the right TV for you

Only a few years ago, a visit to your favorite electronics store meant only have having a few choices. Today, technology with TV's has literally exploded leaving the average consumer with a dizzying array of choices. Keep in mind that before you head off to the store, or even beginning browsing a site, for you next TV, it can be helpful to keep certain things in mind. Here is what you need to know about how to choose the right TV for you-

The first step is to know what kind of TV's are available and what each of them does. There are basically three different types of TV's. They are-
1. Rear projection tube TV-This is the kind of TV that most of grew up with. Keep in mind that these are going out of style quickly. The picture is not as good as other types of TV's and they are big and bulky. The upside to this TV is because there is not a high demand; this can be a good budget choice.
2. Plasma TV's-This type of TV provides a much better quality of picture.They also come in a variety of sizes. This is a good choice for a TV if you are going to want to have a theater type experience with a low settings on your lights, and just want to watch occasional network and cable TV. It is important to keep in mind that this is not the right TV, for heavy video game players, those who want a TV for constant use or a TV that can be left on all day. (Some people leave on their TV's as a companion for their pets.) These TV's have a high quality overall and are a popular choice.
3. LCD-A major selling point for this type of TV is that it does come in numerous sizes, so that it can fit almost anywhere in your home. This is a good TV to be used for video games and it can be used over a lengthy period of time. However, many people feel that these TV's do not offer the high picture quality that a plasma TV does.
The next step is to clearly determine where you are going to place the TV. You need to know if the TV will be sitting on a stand, or hanging on a wall. Make sure that you furniture arrangement is conductive to the TV you want to buy. Most importantly of all, it is crucial to make sure that you take measurements, before you leave your home. You should have them written down so that you can show them to the salesperson. This way you don't end up with a TV that is to big, for the room you want to put it in.

You should also decide what accessories you will be using with it. Will you need or do you have an HD DVD, Blu-Ray player or some other feature to go along with your TV? Do you have the right kind of cable? Will you be putting in surround sound at some point? It is important to have some kind of plan before just purchasing the first TV that you see.

Don't be afraid to have a budget-The reality is that technology is constantly changing. This means that today's technology may be on sale tomorrow. You can find great deal on clearance, at the end of year and sometimes in mid June and July. Taking the time to shop around and compare prices can mean that you save big money in the end, and won't that make your TV viewing even better?
