Everyone eventually comes to realize that technology does not always run smooth. Sometimes it can seem that all you are doing is dealing with the problems and issues that arise with your technology. It can seem that your time is most often spent dealing with problems, rather then using your technology. However, there are things that you can do, that will help to minimize the chances of having problems. This is especially true when it comes to dealing with your computer.

If you are like most people your computer seems to run without any problems, and then in an instant, things turn, and all you have id problems!Frustrated and overwhelmed you may want to give up. However, by taking a few preventive steps in maintaining your computer you can reduce the chance of serious problems. Here is what you need to know about how to keep your technology running smoothly-

  • Never spray or squirt anything on or into your computer-Even if you are appalled by how dirty your computer looks, or frustrated by how it is working, you should ever squirt or spray anything directly on or into the computer. If you decide that your computer needs a cleaning, you should only use water or alcohol. You should also never spray it on the computer, but onto a cloth. Then you can wipe down whatever needs to be cleaned.

  • Never use a vacuum on the inside of the computer-It is inevitable that your computer will over time, collect dirt and dust. While you can use a vacuum to clean that up, do not be tempted to poke the vacuum hose indie the computer. While this may seem harmless, this can in fact, damage the components that are inside the computer, by generating a large amount of static electricity. If you really feel that you need to clean the inside of your computer, then consider using a vacuum that is battery powered, (and designed to do the job), or use a can that can blow air into any computer parts, that may need to be cleaned.

  • Never try to clean up your computer while it is on-While this may seem obvious, you would be surprised at how many people ignore this advice and end up causing serious damage to their computer. You should need to make sure that your computer (and all components) is completely shut off, before you proceed with any cleaning. If you try to clean your computer, either internally or externally, you could permanently damage your motherboard, and set yourself up, for a hefty repair bill.

  • Never eat or drink around your computer-Some of the most serious damage that can be done to your computer, can result from tipping over your soda, or dropping food on it. You want to make sure that there is no eating and drinking going on around your computer. This is especially important if you have kids, who may not be aware of the problems that food and drink can cause, for your computer. Remember, that just a moment of clumsiness can seriously damage, necessitating an expensive repair or the need, for a replacement.

  • Never ignore the need for proper maintenance-Many computer users choose to ignore those warnings that their virus program, or essential component, needs to be updated. Your computer can tell you when it foresees a problem, but it can't fix it. You need to take the warnings that you see on your computer, seriously and react to them, in a timely manner. This is one of the best ways to keep your computer up and running, in a smooth and efficient manner.
